Early Infant Oral Care

It’s never too soon to start caring for your baby’s dental (oral) health. A baby’s 20 primary teeth (baby teeth) are already present in the jaw at birth and usually begin coming through the gums around 4 to 6 months of age. Practicing healthy habits can prevent or reduce tooth decay (cavities) in infants and children.

Following the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), Dr. Phu Le suggests infants should come in for their first oral exam between the ages of six months to 1 year old.

Dr. Phu Le will review proper diet, age-appropriate hygiene, and go over pacifier use to make sure your child’s oral health starts strong and stays strong.
